The Acolyte Ultra 9ft Feeder rod (2.74m) is a super slim, lightweight rod with an exquisite casting and playing action.

With the popularity of slightly extended platforms on commercial fisheries, shorter feeder rods have become increasingly useful. The 9ft Ultra and its stepped-up brother, the Acolyte Plus 9ft Feeder, both allow fish to be played and landed right up close to the angler.

With an average weight of just 4oz or 113g, the Ultra 9ft Feeder remains crisp, strong and responsive to help cast with greater accuracy, whether fishing tight to an island, on snake lakes or on the pole line. The slimline blank also remains rigid enough to make bite-detection easier.

Importantly, the Acolyte Ultra 9ft Feeder still retains a great fish-playing action for anything from roach and skimmers to F1s and even small carp. The shorter length will also help to bring fish closer in for swifter netting.

The Acolyte Ultra 9ft comes with 1oz, 1.5oz and 2oz slim carbon push-in tips as standard that blend in perfectly with the blank and interchange with other Acolyte Feeder models but not with the Distance Feeder.

The rod’s two-piece construction ensures that it can also be quickly and easily folded in half for ease of transportation in a Rod Case or Sleeve. A handy pair of Neoprene rod socks and a retaining band are also included.

It is more powerful than the Acolyte Ultra 10ft Feeder and set to be a popular choice on commercial fisheries where big fish are the target but only a modest cast is required. The 10ft Plus is great for hard-fighting fish like tench, chub, F1s and match-sized carp. The smooth, parabolic playing action still copes really well when smaller fish are hooked. The relatively short 10ft (3.05m) length really helps to bring fish much closer in for ease of netting. The slim, crisp and responsive blank slices through the air, enhancing casting accuracy. Stand-off SiC guides also aid smooth line travel. It also comes with three super-slim, push-in carbon Feeder Tips of 1.5oz, 2oz and 2.5oz that blend perfectly with the blank.

This rod is ideal when matched with feeders up to 45g (1.5oz) and will comfortably cope with ranges up to 40 metres. Greater distances can be achieved with sensibly balanced tackle and a good casting technique. The 11ft (3.35m) length is the perfect all-round choice for ease of both casting and playing fish on a wide variety of venues. The rod has more power than the 11ft Ultra Feeder, which makes it an ideal choice for quality fish like bream, tench, chub, carp and F1s. However, the smooth, parabolic playing action still copes really well when reeling in smaller silverfish.

The slim, crisp and responsive blank cuts through the air and offers optimum casting accuracy. The cast is further enhanced by stand-off SiC guides that are deliberately spaced to help the line travel through them as smoothly as possible. This rod is ideal when matched to feeders up to 60g (2oz) and will easily cope with ranges up to 50 metres. Greater distances are achievable with sensibly balanced tackle and a good casting technique.

The 11ft Plus comes with three push-in carbon tips of 2oz, 2.5oz and 3oz. These super-slim tips have been designed to blend perfectly with the rod blank. The rod can be neatly folded away into two sections, so it can be carried to the bankside in a Rod Sleeve or Rod Case and assembled in seconds. This 12ft (3.66m) rod has a super slim blank with plenty of backbone for casting feeders of up to 60g (2oz) with greater accuracy. Stand-off SiC guides also allow the line to flow smoothly for increased casting potential. This rod is ideal for medium to long range work up to 60 metres, but distances greater than this are achievable with the right tackle and a good casting technique.

During field-testing, the 12ft Plus accounted for plenty of quality carp into double figures on long-range Method feeder tactics. This versatile rod is equally at home for catching species like bream and tench with conventional feeders. The extra length is also really useful for anglers wanting to target hard-fighting fish on rivers.
